Change is the uninvited guest that resides in the shadows until we find comfort in the warm blanket of security. She is rarely embraced but she is prowling ever closer. Yet she takes us unwillingly, and we fall in love ignorantly. Our comfort will regrow in a new place, or uncover itself in a friend. But she will rear her ugly head once again. The tides shall again return and repaint what we hold dear in a new light, and we will don a new identity. Literal distance will become figurative, and we will find comfort in nothing. And we will find comfort in nothing.
